Lucuma raw

Grown in the temperate highlands of Peru, lucuma is a sweet fruit which is dried naturally to produce a fine, light yellow powder. It is revered for its unique and delicately sweet taste and is used commercially to flavour ice creams, baby foods, milk shakes, yoghurts, cakes and desserts. Low in acid, it is a good source of both minerals, particularly iron, and vitamins, especially carotene and niacin.
