How much IP6 should I take?
For overall good health, take 2 capsules orally twice a day on an empty stomach. For maximum immune support, take 8 capsules (or 1 scoop of powder) orally twice a day, or as directed by a healthcare professional.
What does it mean to take on an empty stomach and why?
Recent studies have shown that IP6 binds to certain proteins and fibres when taken with food, which can reduce its absorption into the body. To ensure that you are getting the most out of your IP6 supplement, it is recommended to take it at least one hour before a meal or at least two hours after a meal.
Is it safe to take with medicines?
There are no known contra-indications or drug interactions. It is recommended taking your medications at a different time of day than IP6 Gold. Be sure to consult your physician or pharmacist if you have a question.
Are there any side effects or adverse reactions?
Human trials and clinical testing have been administered in very large dosage amounts and no side effects, adverse reactions or consequences were evident, neither was any toxicity level detected in the blood or tissues. Yes, IP6 Gold can be safely given to pets. The dosage should be based on the animal’s weight. For example, an 18-pound dog would need to take 2 capsules twice a day. We do not recommend the flavoured powder for animals.
Where does IP6 come from?
It is extracted from Non GMO rice bran, it is part of a compound called Calcium Magnesium Phytate. The Magnesium and Calcium are not added, they are present in the bran. The raw material is then subject to several independent tests to insure purity.
Does it thin blood? Should I stop taking before I have surgery?
IP6 does not exactly “thin blood,” but it inhibits platelet aggregation (“stickiness”) so that less clotting occurs in the blood vessels. In the event of surgery, you should be careful to avoid anything that could cause excess bleeding. As a precaution, stop taking IP6 Gold about 5 days before surgery.
