There has been some recent scaremongering regarding Enterococcus strains. Please be aware that there are many strains of this bacteria and that Threelac uses a beneficial probiotic lactic acid producing strain from class F-100. Not all enterococcus strains have the same properties or effects, some strains have been used in probiotic strains for many years..

Why is Threelac different from other candida supplements:
Threelac was 'discovered' by a Japanese pharmaceutical company whilst carrying out trials on the effect of certain probiotic bacteria on hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol). The effect of probiotics on cholestrol levels in well documented and simple search for 'probiotic+cholestrol' should yield many results. The japanase trials showed that three types of lactic acid producing bacteria outperformed others tested and these wee incorporated into 3lac. An agreement was entered into by Global Health Trax for distribution of the combination outside of Japan.
'The secret behind ThreeLac's effectiveness is the micro-encapsulation process that gets the live bacteria safely past the acidic environment in the stomach. These oxygen-friendly bacteria go to work "dining" on anaerobic problem organisms that your body does not need. An added benefit is that it helps to balance the body's pH.
When you using Threelac for a candida management strategy or general health reasons, use common sense and avoid processed sweets. Eat your sweets "raw" and enjoy a good diet rich in nutritious foods.
Threelac Suggested Use:
If Threelac is taken to assist in an anti-candida program it is adviseable to reduce both refined and natural sugars for the first two weeks of use. This would include fruit juices and alcohol as well. Natural sugars can gradually be added back later on to see what can be tolerated without inflaming candida, after candida has been brought into management.
Take ThreeLac right before you eat a meal. Let the packet dissolve in your mouth and follow immediately with 4-6 ounces of water. Then eat. Food acts as a buffer to assist ThreeLac in reaching the small intestine.

You may experience detox reactions or a worsening of symptons in the first week or so so drink plenty of water. When you are satisfied reduce to a maintenance amount of one packet per day to maintain body pH.

Rebuild after Candida.
One of the main worries of Candida sufferers is that after a period of anti candida measures when their health and strength is returning is that somehow the balance will be upset and their problem will re-occur. To help prevent this we advise making sure you have a daily intake of probiotics.
We have two options:
Kefir, which contains colony forming probiotic cultures which are far superior and hardier than those found in yoghurt. Grab a starter kit with which you can make around 42 liters or 80 days worth of Kefir for around £6.00 or make your own probiotic vegetable cultures such as sauerkraut or kimchi or your feremented vegetable of choice.
Making your own feremented vegetables will ensure a healthy supply of probiotics which are not available in store bought products. Store bought sauerkraut is pasteurised and pasteurisation kills the beneficial probiotics. And dont worry about the word 'fermentation', most candida diet writers do not understand the different processes of fermentation and advise that you avoid all fermented products. This is just poor science. Avoid yeast fermented products. Natural fermented probiotic rich krauts are highly beneficial, being full of beneficial bacteria and vitamins.

Is Threelac Safe?
Threelac has been deemed safe and pure based on exacting tests performed by the American Food and Drugs Administration.
Why is Enterococcus Faecalis (Streptococuss Faecalis) in Threelac - Isn't that Toxic?
First of all 'streptococcus' just means 'berry shaped' and the name is given to many strains of bacteria that are 'berry shaped'. There are toxic streptococcus bacillus and they get a lot of press. The strains used in Threelac are 'lactic acid' producing bacteria and produce a beneficial environment in the intestines - lactic acid in the intestines is said to act like a natural antibiotic.
**Lactic acid producing bacteria should not be confused with lactose which is a milk sugar which can cause intolerance in a small propertion of the population deficient in the enzyme lactase.
Useful Tips:
>Some conditions have a multitude of symptoms and some symptoms are relieved quicker than others, so it can be useful to do the spit test once per week to look for changes. Also - Keep a checklist of symptoms rated 1 to 5 and look for changes every 2 weeks.

There is a small amount of yeast, a nutritional yeast, in the product to act as a food source for the lactobacilli until they can get through the stomach acids and do their job. This amount of yeast won't enflame the candida simply because the numbers of Threelac organisms that survive the stomach acids are very high. So it won't inflame Candida but do not take if you have a Yeast Allergy. Some people do have sensitivities to this yeast, or to the lemon flavored powder, and may not be able to take Threelac.
Bacterial Strains:
These are benign, probiotic strains of lactobacilli, not to be confused with toxic strains, which also exist. It's best to start slowly on any new product in order to find the amount that works best for any individual. The label says one can take "up to four or five packets a day" but many have reported one or two the first month are sufficient.
